Tourist Submarine
“Sadko” is the second tourist submarine built by the SOE CDB ME “Rubin” design.
The multiyear experience of the enterprise
designers and state-of-the-art technical solutions allowed the designers to achieve the
combination of operational safety, comfort for passengers, high technical characteristics
and environmental cleanliness. |

Tourist submarine
“Sadko” can take aboard up to 40 passengers and perform a fascinating underwater
excursion at the depth down to 40 meters. An individual upholstered chair is provided for
each passenger. Passengers can observe the underwater life through portholes of 640 mm
diameter.
|
| |
Given an average duration of
the underwater sailing of 1 hour at speed 3 knots the “Sadko” can make up to 7
excursions without recharging the storage battery and replenishment of the compressed air
stock. A 3-person crew provides the submarine control and passenger servicing.
|
| |
The Sadko’s operational
safety is ensured by meeting international requirements to vehicles of such a class as
well as by increased safety margin of the hull and major structures including portholes,
by positive buoyancy at all modes of sailing, availability of the system for tightness
checks. Application of the electric drive without hydraulic systems increases the
environmental safety. High manoeuvrability allows to make excursions without affecting the
flora and fauna including coral formations.
